Construction Updates

Below are weekly updates about our new building located at:

980 North White Street

Wake Forest, North Carolina

January 30, 2026

Our indoor space is nearly complete, with drywall hanging at 100% and finishing at 98%. The electrical meter is running, five mechanical units are providing heat, and the ceiling grids in our classrooms and offices are fully installed. Our AV team has officially moved in to begin their work, and we are moving into the "trim out" phase for plumbing and electricity. We are even celebrating the completion of the beautiful stone veneer and entrance prep—the face of our new home is truly coming together!

As we look to the next seven days, our focus shifts toward the critical exterior work we’ve been praying for. While interior painting and ceiling work continue, our contractors are prioritized to begin storm water installation (pending final approval) and site grading for landscaping. We are also preparing to start the exterior "EIFS" (finish system) and painting as soon as the weather stays above 40 degrees. Please continue to pray specifically for these outdoor milestones and for the town's approvals, as these are the final keys to opening our doors on N. White Street!

The past week has been a whirlwind of progress as the "skeleton" of our new home finally starts to look like a finished sanctuary. We are officially sealed from the elements, with all exterior windows and storefront glass now fully installed! Inside, the transformation is even more dramatic: the Sanctuary ceiling has been painted, the restroom tiling is complete, and we finally have permanent power connected to the building. Walking through the halls, you can really feel the finish line approaching—most of the drywall is up, the classrooms are primed with paint, and our AV team has begun the exciting work of setting up the technology that will help us worship together.

As we move into next week, the focus is all about the fine details. Our crews will be busy installing the ceiling grids in our offices and classrooms, making the rooms feel complete. While painters continue to add color to the walls, our mechanical and electrical teams will be finishing their work above the ceilings to prepare for final inspections. Outside, you’ll see heavy machinery continuing to grade the land, smoothing the way for our future landscaping and greenery.

We are excited to share that our building project is moving into its final interior stages with several major milestones reached this week. Our mechanical and plumbing rough-ins are nearly 100% complete, and we have officially passed our sewer and flooring moisture tests. The exterior is looking more finished every day, with siding, soffits, and lighting now installed, and the stone veneer nearly complete. Most notably, we received approval for conditional power today! Inside the sanctuary, drywall is 96% hung and "dry-fall" painting is well underway, while our restrooms are beginning to shine with tile work now 95% finished.

Looking ahead to next week, we are anticipating a "bright" Tuesday as we expect the conditional power to be fully activated, allowing our mechanical systems to start up shortly after. The ceiling grids will begin to go up, interior painting will continue, and we will keep grading the grounds to prepare for future landscaping.

Current Progress:

This past week saw significant progress toward closing out the building's core systems and exterior. We have nearly completed the electrical conduit, mechanical ductwork, and insulation, with all systems sitting at approximately 98% completion. Critical infrastructure, including the mechanical line sets, stage ramp framing, and dumpster corral walls, has reached 100%. On the exterior, the sidewalks are finished, and the stone veneer and window installations are nearly wrapped up at 95%. Inside the sanctuary, drywall hanging is moving quickly at 92%, while the finishing phase has surpassed the halfway mark. We also made significant strides in the site work, completing a substantial portion of the storm pipe installation and grading 80% of the parking lot subgrade.

Looking Ahead: The Next 7 Days

The primary focus for the coming week is achieving conditional power, which will involve intensive coordination between the electrical and mechanical teams. In preparation for the parking lot paving, we will begin laying stone for the graded areas while continuing storm water and landscape grading. Inside the building, the AV contractor is scheduled to finish their rough-in mounting by Tuesday, clearing the way for dryfall paint application on Wednesday. We will also begin several finish-level tasks, including the installation of all interior door frames and bathroom wall tiles. Finally, our team will measure for the fabrication of metal railings and gates to ensure these custom components remain on schedule.
